The CMP, or Certified Meeting Professional, program is the most widely recognized designation in the meetings industry. It symbolizes excellence in professional and academic experience. Approximately 25% of ESPA members hold the CMP designation.
Haven't decided to earn your CMP yet? Read "CMP - What is it? Why Should You have it? The inside story on the Value of Obtaining this prestigious designation," which appeared in Hotel Executive magazine, on the importance of CSMs receiving their certification.
The CMP program is administered by the Convention Industry Council. In order to qualify to begin the certification process, meeting professionals must meet a threshold of activity in the industry, including prior experience, continuing education, scope of responsibilities and leadership. In addition they must pass an extensive examination.
Participation in ESPA programs can earn you valuable continuing education credit hours. In addition to the Annual Conference, each ESPA monthly webinar offers one education hour.
